The book includes access to 111 Hollywood screenplay agents - names, addresses, contact details - everything.

Rob Parnell - author of the bestselling "Easy Way to Write" series - presents a complete screenwriting manual for beginners.

This unique book takes you from acquiring the screenwriter's mindset, through idea creation to the mechanics of creating screenplays for Hollywood - or indeed any film production companies in your local area.

This book is perfect if you have no experience and you need to know what to do when you have an idea for a movie. It shows you the process you should consider to best realize your dream. How and when to contact production companies. What you need to take along - and what to say. Plus how to write the screenplay yourself, if that's what you want to do.

In this book you'll learn much about how the modern movie business works - so you'll know what to expect.

Now, it could be that certain movie insiders would prefer you didn’t read this book - because it tells you the truth about the movie-making system. You'll discover how films are made, how the money is raised for them, and where writers sit in the hierarchy of film-making - letting you know what to expect and how, if you want, to use the system to your advantage.

The fact is, experienced writers know that writing screenplays is something you should only get paid to do, even though many newbies feel that it's perhaps okay to work for nothing - at least at first. This book shows you that this is simply not the case that in order to be taken seriously by the film business, you should act like a professional - and this book shows you how.

Because smart writers know how to use the system. This book will show you how to pitch your movie idea - and who to. The book then moves on to creating useful short synopses and movie treatments, all the way up to creating and writing a stunning screenplay (after being paid an advance of course!)

Rob Parnell says

"This book is based on my work in the film industry over the last seven years. It’s based on fact - and the way the system works. Before I started I knew nothing about the movie-making business. I thought it would be easy - and actually I was surprised that it was - just not in the way I was expecting!

"After just a couple of months I had an agent, three producers calling me regularly, two movies optioned - one in Hollywood; I had several ideas in development and was being asked to rewrite and develop other people's screenplays left right and center. I'd also been paid more money than I knew what to do with. To be honest I don't think it's because I'm super talented - it's just that I used the right strategy - and didn't waste time writing scripts before I had any interest in my movie ideas - or before I got paid!

"Now, the average writer's advance for a movie script is $300,000 to $500,000. Yes, that's half a million dollars. For just one script. And getting a Hollywood film deal is far easier than you would imagine. I know - I did it myself!

"I invite you now to read my book and see if you too can create a splash in the film industry - the easy way."

The Easy Way to Write Hollywood Screenplays That Sell edition by Rob Parnell Humor Entertainment eBooks Reviews

Screenwriting takes work, lots of it. I have to admit I was a little hesitant with the book, but I'm happy I was wrong. I have read a lot of screenwriting books, the popular ones and some of the more obscure, and this book is maybe one of the best, if only for the simplicity of its approach, making every concept easy to understand, and for its straightforwardness, it tells it how it is, and why it works that way in the industry, no bs or filler.
It won't teach you any magic formula, what it does is show you what it takes to write a screenplay that may be considered by the big Hollywood studios. And you will learn to get there by writing a lot, not by applying reverse engineering to try and figure out the "perfect blockbuster structure", like some other well known books preach.
There is no single way to write, this book makes sure you find what works for you, it makes you uncover your stories by writing so you can discover what they are about, and helps you tweak them so they stay on course, but without stifling your creative process.
The exercises at the end of every chapter are a good way to put in practice every point that is being made.
A great intro book, easy to read and right to the point, that can help anyone start and, hopefully, maintain a career in screenwriting.
This book show a modern approach to screenwriting centering in the craft of good screen storytelling,

Highly recommended
In this book Rob Parnell continues his series of the Easy Way to Write books with an explanation of what Hollywood wants to see and provides tips on how to structure proposals and increase your chances of actually getting your screen play read, How to format, structure, find helpful software and information is included in his usual style of writing like he talks.
Rob Parnell believes that there are many want to be screen writers who can make a very good living but says in this book that unless you have an inside connection that persistence is required. Tips on how to get noticed, what not to write about, how not to submit and basic structure of a screen play are all included. Flexibility and re-writing are required.
Producing a movie often takes 2 years of a directors time. If producing a movie was going to consume 2 years of your life you would be very picky about a play. Hollywood is about money and fame. As Rob Parnell points out in the book millions are required to produce a movie and funds must be raised and spent long before the movie is finished. If you are willing to work with the director and producers a movie can be made but if you are not flexible your screen play will probably be rejected. Parnell points out many pitfalls and also things to do to make a screen play more likely to be read. If a play is not read it will never be produced.
This book will not write your screen play and make it into a movie. This book will warn you of things not to do and things that must be done to make your play more likely to be read. Follow the instructions and increase the chances of your play being produced. It is a lot of work but can make the writer a good living or even a fortune. If you, the writer, will write what Hollywood wants and follow the conventions you could have your screen play produced and this book will help new authors and other to increase their chances of their screen play being read.
'The easy way to write screenplays that sell' rocks! I have bought a couple of Rob Parnell’s books and I must say that he always delivers what he “preaches”. Here are the reasons why I loved this ebook, and recommend it to anyone who seriously wishes to get started in Hollywood as a smart screenwriter
As I’m not an English native-speaker, and feel myself more comfortable with showing than telling - I realize I’m not a skilled writer but I’m creative and have good story ideas - this book was just perfect for me. Rob Parnell leads you in the journey of becoming a screenwriter like a buddy who happens to be an expert. He is very professional but at the same time personal and above all very honest. He knows what he is talking about, and he shows the “behind the curtains” stuff one really needs to know to get started. No beating around the bush.
His exercises and valuable tips/links alone are worth the whole ebook. That being said, one should FIRST read this ebook before going deeper into the technical books by Sid Field or David Trottier, for example, and sophisticated softwares. If you read it first, you may save time and money if you decide a Screenwriting career is not for you, but if you do decide to pursue it, then you couldn’t start it better! The latter is my case Hollywood, I'm coming! Highly highly recommended.
This kindle book is a great introduction to screenwriting and how the Hollywood (Hollyweird) movie machine works. Highly recommended for anyone interested in the movie business.
Not only does this have some exercises for you to start writing, but it answers those questions of doubt from all you overthinkers. It takes hard work to get into the screenwriting business but practice makes perfect and this book gives you what you need to get started without the fluff. Really, until I exhaust all of these lessons, I don't need another book.
